Hi, I'm Danny.

I started Danny Wears Pink in September, 2013 when I was ten years old. My Mom, Kate, was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was four. She would tell you that you are a survivor from the day you are diagnosed which, for us, was in 2007. My Mom would also tell you that many people aren't as lucky.

We started going on fundraising walks soon after she was diagnosed. She taught me the importance of giving back, of raising money for research and for people whose family members were undergoing treatment. We made shirts for our walks, and signs. I guess you could say Danny Wears Pink started when I was only five! But there's more to that story...

When I was in 5th grade I decided I wanted to wear a pink shirt to school every day in October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. When I told my Mom, she said, "EVERY day?" I'm sure she was thinking we'd have to buy more pink shirts! A bunch of my friends decided to join in on my quest and that's when "Danny Wears Pink...and so do his PEEPS!" was born.

My Mom helped me launch a Facebook page and in a few weeks got over 1,000 Likes! Another mom came up with an idea for a logo, and a friend offered to make tee shirts at cost from her home printing business. We started taking tee shirt orders and filled their living room with shirts!

In the first three years, Danny Wears Pink donated close to $5,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation
